Furst Group has recently been retained by the UC San Diego Health System to assist in its search for a Head of their Decision Support division.

As a senior level leader, the Director of Decision Support will drive the decision support activities for the UCSD health system. They will serve as a critical resource to financial, operational and clinical leadership to support organizational-wide financial performance. This person will provide analysis and evaluation of financial viability around prospective business ventures, major capital investment, clinical and financial initiatives, and strategic planning activities for the Medical Centers and Medical Group.

UC San Diego (UCSD), part of the renowned University of California system, is one of the most respected education and research institutions in the world. UCSD comprises the system of patient services provided at the UC San Diego Medical Center – Hillcrest; Thornton Hospital, Moores Cancer Center; Shiley Eye Center and the Sulpizio Family Cardiovascular Center scheduled to open in 2001, as well as other primary and specialty practices of the UC San Diego Medical Group located throughout San Diego County. The two hospitals operate under one license with a combined licensed capacity of 548 beds. Requirements:
The ideal candidate will bring previous leadership experience providing direction for business analysts and financial analysts in a complex health system environment. The head of Decision Support must demonstrate a high level of confidence and strong executive presence to interface with and make recommendations to various leaders across the UCSD system
